Cost of oil leak repairs?
I have a 2000 Honda CRV. I found out my car has been leaking oil from the top, left side of the engine. The leaking seems to be minimal and i haven't seen any on the ground underneath the car. I can't take it to a shop until Saturday because they're busy. I was looking for some estimates on how much it might cost to fix or what could be the problem in the first place.
Depending on where it's at. They charge alot by labor. If it looks like it's in a tight spot they will charge alot.
No one can estimate anything until they know what it is leaking. The best place to find out what is leaking is on a lift at the shop. You can prepare for that shop visit by going to a car wash with a flashlight and wearing some old clothes. Lay down, look under and clean any and all oil off everything you can see with the flashlight. Why? Because oil leaks from whatever source run all over and get thrown all over. With the engine underside well cleaned, the shop mechanic will be able to spot the leak source and give you an estimate.
- How much will these repairs and maintenence cost on my integrs? I would like to know a estimate on how much getting my rear brakes both sides replaces all 4 new motor mounts replaced and a tune up from honda? Tune up as in oils changes and clutch bled like that. By the way my car is a 1997 gsr integra.
- Honda Rebel 450 oil leak? Left side of my 86 Rebel 450 seems to be leaving a little spot of oil right next to my kick stand. Bottom of crankcase cover has a little oil on it as well. Before i pull the cover, What is the leak likely coming from?
- Oil leak after oil change? - 1 I bought a used 03 honda civic that needed an oil change, when i bought it no oil was leaking or anything, i took it to midas to have the oil changed and a few days after i saw oil running down the engine, its not leaking from the filter or drain plug its leaking down the engine look at the photo where the arrows are pointing is where the oil is sweeping out.
- Oil Change: Honda Motor Oil Vs Generic oil, does it make a difference? I have been getting oil changes with Honda motor oil for 15 years on my 2002 civic that now has 132K miles. If I switch to a generic $10 oil change garage shop will it still be ok? I know the Honda filters are better then the cheapest generic ones but how about the actual motor oil?
