Good compact-midsize SUV?
I'm looking at purchasing a compact to midsize SUV. I want something with reliability and decent power. Fuel economy is important too, but it doesn't have to be exceptional… I'm honestly ok with "pretty good" MPG. The models I have been interested in so far are Dodge Durango, Subaru Forester, and Honda CR-V. Looks-wise, I like the Durango and Forester a little better. My price ballpark is around $5k (so I assume I will be looking at early 2000's models). Any insight would be appreciated.
There are several. Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tuscon, Subaru Forester and Nissan Rogue. The Honda has been top rated for many years running. The Hyundai should be considered as well because it very reliable and has the best powertrain warranty of any of them. Both the Forester and Rogue are good choices but get the least fuel economy.
I'd go for the CRV if you just want something to drive around in an urban environment that as close to bullet proof as it gets. If you actually want to go off road, get the Subaru.
Thanks… I live in a small town, but there are a lot of rural areas around here. I don't need anything for hardcore off roading, just a little more on the tougher side than the sedan I have now… And the space is nice.
- Why are there no more sports compact cars anymore? I remember in the 90s they had small compact cars like the Acura Integra and Honda del sol and Toyota mr2. Why won't they make them anymore?
- What is a good SUV for a young male? Hey I'm looking to buy a new or slightly used SUV that should have AWD as I live in a snowy climate. I can spend under total of $26k and want something lively and young not old man or soccer mom. I want to stay away from anything too foreign because there would be limited service in my area. I've been looking at the Chevy Trax, Honda HRV and Jeep Renegade. Is there anything else I should be considering and what are your thoughts on those?
- What are best long lasting SUV's? Ok from my experience american cars, have nice design and all but they stop at 200k miles my charger did, and my Chevrolet as well, my son's nissan from 1999 lasted him over 450k miles & his honda its at 350k and still runs like a champion. Right now i want to buy a 2013 suv awd, but i want to be Japanese car, cuz they are the best maked from my experience, so what are some good Japanese suvs with really nice deisgn as well?
