Honda Civic or Honda Cr-v?

So I'm 16 and my parents are planning to get me my first very own car. Yes It's going to be used and I've been looking and I'm interested in honda. My family has always been a honda or toyota family and honda is the most affordable. Which one do you guys like better? I really like them both but I can't decide. What are the pros and cons of both? If it helps, I'm a female who doesn't really care much about speed. I just want to know which car feels better to drive in. Pros and cons and which one would you choose?

CR-V is more versatile, but rides rougher. My '04 CR-V only got around 23-24 mpg. Both the '95 and '98 Civics I owned got over 30 mpg (my '95 got 36-37 mpg). If you drive a lot, and if it's on bad roads, go with a Civic.

All three had 250K+ miles on them when I sold them. Of all three, the '95 is the only one I wish I had kept (wife talked me into selling it).

I agree with FHW. Both are good.

Civic is more efficient, economical, comfortable.

CRV is better for cargo and, with available all wheel drive, if you live in a place with both lots of deep snow and steep hills, you might need that. Civic can handle normal snow.

Drive both and you will know which you like best.

If you live somewhere with lots of snow, the CRV would be a good choice, assuming it's all wheel drive. If you are active, into sports, that sort of thing, the CRV has a lot more room. The Civic might be more comfortable for long drives, and will certainly get much better milage. Both are very reliable, and good quality vehicles.
