Is your car all-wheel drive or just front wheel? In a front wheel drive vehicle there's NOTHING in the rear that should be knocking, except maybe a loose exhaust pipe. If it's an all-wheel drive, then there could be a universal joint from the rear drive shaft that's getting ready to fail.
