Engine Overheating Problems?

I have a '96 4th gen Honda prelude and I can't figure out why it's overheating. I've gone through everything I can think of but the car is still having problems. The water pump is good, replaced the radiator+hoses+thermostat and bled the air out of the system so that's all good. I did a block test to check for bad head gasket and the head gasket is fine so there's no oil mixing in the system. The problem started after I replaced the oil cooler o-ring. I don't really know how the oil cooler works but there's oil and coolant lines that run into the cooler and I replaced the hose for the coolant line because it was splitting. I didn't use the OEM hose so I had to bend the new one in an awkward angle to force it to fit but it's on there, could that be restricting the flow of coolant? I have no idea what else to check.

Check it

Think about it…"The problem started"… That's where you look. It was fine until… You must have CRIMPED the hose. Make a loop or do whatever you have to to prevent crimping.

Oil hose

Get the OEM hose for the cooler.

You had to "force it" to fit?!
Oops!

FORCE is a bad word for me.
I think you need to have a look at the hose.
It could be pinched.
Why not buy the right hose?
The water pump has no ability to make pressure to force circulation.
It just moves the liquid along.

  • Problems with honda engine? I got an 01 Integra with a B18B1 in it and the other day I got gas in it and went home. Shut it off and then started it again to go back out about an hour later and the engine seems like its shaking back and forth, and the check engine light starts flashing. I thought it was the transmission mount so I replaced that since it was about to fall apart anyways but that didn't even work. Does anyone know what might be the problem? Does anyone think it could be bad gas?
  • Why is my 1998 Honda civic lx still overheating? I've replaced the thermostat, water pump, timing belt, flushed the radiator and done a coolant test to check for gasses and all is good. The fan is wire up so it automatically comes on when ignition is turned on and is blowing the correct way. Do I need to try a new radiator cap or radiator? Engine light is on but it's for a 02 sensor. Any help is appreciated.
