Reseting TPMS on a Honda Fit 2012?

My tire pressure light came on and I pumped some air at a local gas station to the correct psi. A week later, the light is still on? Does it manually reset or is there like a button that helps reset it?

Also, is there a possibility I have a small leak or a nail embedded in the tire?

I'm a car noob, btw haha.

The correct information for PSI is located on the door or on the owners manual. Take it to a tire shop for inspection. If there's no air leaks on the tires, then it must mean that the batteries on the TPMS sensors have died. You will have to replace all 4 sensors.

The battery in the tire sensors should last about 5 years or so and you should not worry about it unless the tire has been patched for puncture and during the service damaging one or more of the sensor.

Correcting the tires pressure to 32 psi as indicate to the owner manual or the door jam plate, do not over inflate the tires. If your Fit is a Sport model, I think it calls for 33 psi.

Many people forget that your car do come with a spare tire. It could be the compact spare tire is in use right now? If so have your regular tire service/ repair and re- install as soon as possible and the light will turn off all by itself.

By the way, there are to lights for indication in the TPMS: One is the low tire pressure: picture of a tire with an acclamation in the middle and the TPMS indicator. Which on is lit? There's no reset button for the TPMS, low tire pressure after the correction of the pressure, the indicator should go out after the car has been driven for about 1-2 miles.

Other than what I have discussed; If the TPMS indicator stays lit then any tire shop or your dealer has the TPMS scanner can reset or program the system after the correction or repair done.

Look at the owner manual, P 223 or 269 will show you. If foe any reason you can't locate the manual. Go to this Honda web site and download the free manual for your Fit:
