How to get the radio code for a 1992 honda?

How to get the radio code for a 1992 honda? - 1

(1) it might have been written inside the owner's manual somewhere, though it's not always guaranteed.
(2) sometimes dealerships put a small sticker with the radio code inside the glove compartment box (in a spot where it's not easily seen - just search thoroughly).
(3) it might be printed on an old receipt if the last owner took the car in for service at a dealership. Obviously, this depends on whether or not you can find an old receipt somewhere in the car.
(4) if you can't find the radio code itself, you will need to get the serial number of the radio unit. This can be done by taking apart the radio console (you can do this yourself if you're handy and have a manual for your specific car - can be purchased at any car repair store such as AutoZone or Strauss) and looking behind the radio unit - copy down the serial number and then take it to a Honda dealership - they'll type in the serial number in their computer and get you the radio code (be warned: they will charge you for this measily service - try to bargain for a better price with whoever you're dealing with).
(5) the most costly way to get the radio code - take it to Honda and let them take the console apart, get the serial number from the back of the radio unit and then use it to get the code, but as I already said, they will charge you a lot to do this even though it's not very hard to do.

I would ring or visit a honda dealership with the VIN number for your car. That is of course if you can't find it in the manual or on a business card the the service wallet, if there's a contact number for a previous servicing dealership, I would try contacting them, since they have had previous contact with the car, they may be more accommodating. Some dealerships will charge, others won't, if you know an independent mechanic get them to call the dealership, they are much more likely to not be charged for this information (I'm an independent mechanic, who has made this call plenty of times)

Hi a Honda agent would be the best place as they keep records on the companies computer.

Go to the Honda owners website and register your Honda. There you can get the code for free. Look on the left under Quick Links for Retrieve Radio/Navi Code. http://owners.honda.com/....honda.com

  • Oem radio, help finding code 2002 honda covic lx? I have a 2002 honda civic lx and was gonna replace the battery soon. Is there anyway I can get the code off of the radio unit itself or do I have to find that sticker with the code. I've looked in the glove box, isn't in there. Where else would it be? But is there something I could press on the radio itself to show the code, the radio is function and everything works. Kinda worried when I do change my battery it will have that error code come up. Any help please, thanks.
