I have a honda cb450 that the engine will cut out completly if i'm over 5.5k rpms and over half throttle?

Added (1). What is the Problem? I have already cleaned the carbs. Once it cuts out it is like i have no throttle on. I'm want to do this fix myself if at all possible. 1982

Also, check the spark plug gap. If too wide, the spark voltage will be insufficient to jump the gap.

Its getting flooded out. The carburetor jets are not regulating properly.

It could be;
Float level is incorrect in the carburetors
Kill switch shorting to ground due to high intensity spark arcing to ground.possible pin hole in kill wire.
Low on fuel
Carburetors may need to be rebuilt with new kits.

  • Why is my 2006 Honda Metropolitan cutting out at full throttle? When I give my moped full throttle and open it up all the way it just sounds bogged down plus the acceleration is terrible and I have to gradually give it has very slowly. We replaced the air cleaner, fuel filter, coolant, oil, put premium gas in it and also purchased some injector cleaner but it still does this. We thought it was the fuel filter but it hasn't changed it (very much). Any help is appreciated thanks in advance!
  • What is the price range for a decent 1986 honda cb450 nighthawk? Looking for an older Nighthawk but I know nothing when it comes to pricing, found one that needs the gas tank cleaned and lined for $900, and not sure if good or bad deal.
  • Motorbike bogs down and cuts out at full throttle? I have a gilera cougar 125 (Honda engine), when are full throttle it bogs down and can cause it to cut out. It runs fine otherwise and it's not making any stage sounds or anything.
  • Is a 1982 Honda cb450 Nighthawk a good bike? I'm looking at a 1982 Honda CB450SC Nighthawk. This is my first bike. There are 26K miles on this bike and the dealer wants $1375 for it. Kelley Blue Book said this bike is worth $1175. I ran a vehicle history report and found nothing wrong. Should I buy it? How much should I pay?
