Is a Honda prelude sports car?
Sports cars have rear wheel drive, not front like the Prelude.
Andrew has a point there, but none of the cars he discribed even deserve to the title sportscar minus the Italian two. A sports car is handles exceptionally well… The Viper, Mustang and Corvette aren't very good in that department. A straight line speed demon isn't neccesarily a sports car unless it has the chassis to compliment the engine, which those cars don't. A Corvette is not a Poor Man's sports Car. It costs as much as a Porsche 911 and is not built as well nor is it as reliable as a 911. The only thing cheap on the Vette is it's build quality and chassis.
Anyway, back to the OP's question. The Prelude is not a sportscar, but it's considered a sporty coupe. However, your insurance company might consider it a sportscar. Slow? No, it's not. In fact, depending on the year and model, it might actually be quicker than many of it's competitors. Rule of thumb: A true sportscar is a two seater and rear wheel drive. The Prelude is none of those, btu it is a very reliable and fun to drive car nonetheless.
Honda has made a few sports cars like the Honda S2000, & Honda NSX but the Prelude is no sports car.
No. A coupe yeah. Honda doesn't like to be creative. So they throw a new body on an existing car and rename it. Like the CRX was really a civic with a hatch. Preludes arent even accords more like a high end civic. With two doors and a funky rear end.
While the Prelude was a sporty car, even a sports coupe it was never a sports car.
An Accord with a face lift. I wouldn't consider it one in the traditional sense.
Well ya, it seems to be one. If it sounds loud and powerful, then it must be.
No but nice looking
- What is the deference between a 1990 Honda prelude and a 1991 Honda prelude? Can I do a motor swap with my 1990 Honda Prelude with a 1991 Honda prelude? Both are b21a1 2.05L engines
- What are some good and reliable sports cars by these brands? I'm looking to buy a sporty type car from one of the more reliable brands. From what I've heard, Toyota, Honda, Acura, and Hyundai are pretty solid. By good and reliable i mean which cars hold their value the longest, which cars are the least expensive to fix if something did go wrong, etc. I'm just looking for a basic list of some good cars that cost less than 20,000. Obviously not looking for brand new cars
- Would a 125cc 4 stroke scooter be able to keep up with a 125cc sports bike? I'm thinking of getting a Sym Jet 4 125cc, and my friend rides a Honda CBR 125, we re riding about 3 hours down to the Bulldog Bash, would my scooter be powerful enough to keep up with him? And cruise comfortably at about 60mph? Long and short. How much of an advantage/disadvantage are gears when it comes to acceleration and speed.
- Recommend sports bike for 5 foot 3 inch tall person? I will be 16 years of age soon, and currently race with a crf100 (although it is much too small at this point haha) and out and about I drive a crf230l with no trouble. I'm 5'3" and weigh 135lbs. I'm looking into getting a sports bike, and am considering a ninja 300, or a honda cb500f. The ninja 300 seems ideal, but I worry it is too small, and won't do much more than 130kmph. What would you recommend?
