1999 honda shadow ace 26k asking $2600?

I think it's overpriced. It has new tires and oil change, but I think it's still too much. This guy has been trying to sell it since beginning of June and originally wanted more. I bought a 99 deluxe shadow for $2400 with 5k three years ago. This one has 5 times the miles. I looked up book value, trade in was 1500 and retail 2300, so I figured 1900 would be fair. The only reason why i'm interested is because it's so close to where I live. Do you think 1900 is a fair price.

I think $2600 seems a little high but not out of the question. I live in California where bikes might be worth more because you can ride all year long here, but I often see mid-2000s Shadows going for $4000 (well, that's the asking price. I don't know what they sell for.) The Shadow is very little changed in all these years, so it's not old-looking, it's not a parts orphan, and other things that drive down prices.

Motorcycles are like sports cars in that the Blue Book value really means nothing. They're worth whatever you can get someone to pay for them, and a popular model is worth more! The Shadow is pretty popular!

26k is not exactly high mileage either. That's less than 2k miles per year.

You could certainly offer him 1900 and see what happens. You might reach a compromise somewhere in between.

I would only pay 1500 for that. Its the ONE Honda Shadow that you don't want. It uses a common crank pin [like HD]and as result has less HP than the other Shadow models.
