Burnt up the rings on my 2000 honda 650l motorcycle and am fixing it? - 1

Added (1). took the jug to be bored out and the mechanist said for me to get a piston 10 over or.25. What does this mean? The stock piston diameter is 99.96-99.99, should i get a 101mm piston kit?

You machinist should be doing the bore to the specifications of the piston set you are going to use. You are putting the cart before the horse. Figure out what you want to do, check for availability and cost of parts, then decide which kit you want to use, THEN get the machinist to do the necessary work.

Just get a 10-over kit.

It's not your job to purchase the piston & rings.
It's the job of the machinist to purchase the necessary parts.
The machinist can't begin the work without the parts in hand and only he knows what size parts are necessary.

If the machinist said get a 10 over then
please get a 10 over
hand it over to him and then ask him
what's a 10 over
