Ca a 16 year boy ride a honda cbr600? - 1

Sure, but can a 16 year old boy afford insurance on it?

Statistically, you have about a 100% chance of crashing it.

Can a 16-year old LEGALLY ride a CBR600? Yes. Is it likely that a 16-year old is ready to ride a CBR600? Probably not.

There are a lot of discussions online on this topic and I'm not going to rehash it all here, but I'll simply say that unless you've been riding motorcycles in a racing or off-road environment for a number of years prior to riding a 600cc bike on the street, such a motorcycle carries a tremendous amount of risk for a new rider. Most experienced riders will tell you that you're much better off finding a motorcycle in the 250-500cc range for learning, and then move onto the 600cc when you've gained some practical riding experience. You'll hear many people who started on the 600 say that it's no big deal--"If I can do it, you can do it." Keep in mind, however, that just because someone survived something dangerous doesn't make the activity less dangerous. People survive all sorts of things by shear luck. The statistics make it pretty clear that new riders have a higher probability of accidents, and a larger motorcycle magnifies this probability substantially.

Anybody can ride anything. You can crash and die on an 50cc moped too, yet people always talk **** about how 600 supersports are dangerous and you should start small.

If you aren't a dumb f*** that shows off you will be ok, as long as you don't have bad luck or anything. It all comes down to having control of the bike. 600s are harder to control compared to a 250, or a 50cc moped, but it's not impossible.

I rode my older brother's 1967 Triumph Bonneville quite a bit when I was 14 & 15. Also his MAACO 390. Both bikes almost killed me, especially the MAACO. But at 16, you are looking at $3,000 a year for insurance on a CBR600.

No, its too dangerous to handle

  • Wheel lights on honda cbr600? My boyfriend just bought a used honda cbr600. It has red lights on the rims of the wheels. The guy he bought if from said one wasn't working so he disconnected both of them. We're trying to figure out how to connect them. Or turn them back on. I've tried looking up everything on google but nothing explains how to connect them or turn them on. If anyone has a similar bike please help me out!
  • What is the best clutch kit to buy for my 1999 Honda cbr600 f4? I need to replace the clutch on my CBR 600f4_ and not sure which kit to order and this is the 1st time rebuilding clutch does anyone have any web pages that might have useful tips or diagrams?
  • Should I get an Suzuki SV650 or a Honda CBR600 f4i? I'm a beginner rider and I was wondering which of these would best fit me for my first ride. I know one is a cruiser and one is a crotch rocket? So how much difference is there between the two? I'm 5'6 by the way if that affects anything.
  • Is a Honda cbr600 a good beginners bike? I'm 13 years old, and i'm saving up for one. I rode my brothers pit bike on the highest gear possible, while going very fast and going through slippery sand. I was comfortable on it. I feel that a 250cc or a 300cc motorbike is too small. I like the looks and how fast the cbr600rr goes. What do you think of it?
