Can I put a hondamatic transmission on my 5-speed motorcycle?

I have a 5 speed Honda cb550, that I want to modify to be a 2 speed automatic, using a hondamatic. How would I do this? Are there any alternative automatic transmissions for a motorcycle?

Basically you can't and no. If you can't handle changing gears then sell the bike and buy a gearless scooter.

No, you can't.
If you really want a Hondamatic, there are still some around.
The CM400A wasn't bad for a small bike, the 750 was heavy.
Both were limited by the two speed gearbox.
Both are pretty much antiques now.

I know this bike was handed down to you, but I'm really confused on why you want to change it so much. Auto trans isn't anywhere near an upgrade, it's a downgrade.

If you're just poking around with ideas to kill idle time, I'm good with that.
If you're serious about changing it, it's a waste of time, effort and money.
If you're serious about riding, go learn and leave this bike for when you have learned. You'll find you don't want to change it.

"How would I do this?"
You pay someone a huge amount of money, to design, machine and modify all the necessary components, in order to make the Hondamatic transmission fit your bike. It will cost you many, many thousands to do it.

"Are there any alternative automatic transmissions for a motorcycle?"
No.
Motorcycle transmsissions are not interchangable, without time consuming and very, very expensive modifications.

It would be easier to find a 400 or 750A.
