Dropped motorbike won't start
I recently bought a second hand Honda CG125, 2008 and everything has been fine - until now.
I did a stupid, put it on the stand on a hill and of course it tipped and fell onto it's right side (if you're sat on it).
There's some cosmetic damage and the front indicator bulb has gone, but the biggest problem is it won't start now!
Something leaked when it fell over (?), but I got it up with in a minute, didn't try to start it just rolled it in neutral into my yard.
Once in the yard I tried to start it and the engine rolled over and there was a loud ticking sound. I stopped, waited for a minute and then tried again and there was NOTHING - no ignition, no engine. I turned the bike off, did some quick googling and went outside to try it again, this time the electrics weren't working at all!
It's been an hour or two since now, and the electrics have started working again. The ignition is on a button, and when I press it the lights dim, but still absolutely no ignition or engine.
Any ideas what's happened? Is there any way I can get it started at home myself?
I'm inexperienced with bikes, so please include details!
That ignition button is on the dropped side so guessing a wire or connector has been jarred loose.
Get to the battery to see if any of that 'leaked' fluid is battery acid, don't want that sitting around on things very long plus the battery looses power.
Check the turn indictors for a loose wire(s), that could be shorting out the system enough to cause problems.
- My 1983 Honda nighthawk 650 won't start with the electric start? I recently replaced the ignition coils because the old ones were getting heat soaked and the bike would die, however now the bike won't start with the electric start it turns over fin and the starter sounds fine but it won't start occasionally it ll start when it's cold or try to but I've been having to bump start it in order to ride it. So what's making it do this? Could it be the kill switch? Or something else?
- Is the reason why a motorbike engine won't work in a car because they can't produce high torque at low RPM? I have a 1.3 litre Mitsubishi Colt. Maximum power output 94 BHP at 6000 rpm Maximum torque 92 FT/LB at 4000 rpm Honda 2017 CBR1000RR 1 litre Maximum Power output 189 HP at 13,000 RPM 85.6 FT/LB at 11,000rpm
- Dropped motorcycle - engine sputters then stops. Later on starts, but stops again? I dropped my 2000 Honda Nighthawk CB750 on its right, picked it up in It was riding fine right after, then about 10 minutes later it sputtered and stopped while riding. Looked like the battery and starter motor were fine, engine just couldn't turn over. About 10 minutes later it started, and I rode for a couple miles. A few hours later I rode it again, but it only lasted about 2 miles before stopping again. I waited a few hours after that it started again. Does anybody have suggestions?
- I have a Honda HRX217 push mower. Backfired when trying to start it, now it won't start? It was running, then I shut it off to open and close a gate, and when I went to start it again there was a really loud backfire and now it won't start. It will sound like it's almost about to start but not. Then get progressively weaker each pull. I changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter. Any ideas?
