Having carburetor problems with my 1972 Honda sl 100?

My bike was running great besides the fact it would start to bog down at higher rpms. I tried adjusting the carburetor setting but that did not make any difference. I was told that cleaning the jets the carburetor would fix the problem so I did. After I cleaned the entire carburetor including the jets the bike ran even worse. It won't run without the choke on even when it warmed up and bogs down at lower rpms. Please note that I spark is not the issue because I have replaced the coil and It has a new spark plug in it.

How did you clean it? A complete teardown? It sounds like the idle circuit is plugged up. It only takes one speck of crud to mess it up. And if you did tear it down how did you set the float? If by cleaning you mean carb cleaner sprayed into the venturi, that won't fix your problem.

Won't run unless the choke is on. Another possibility,
could be a vacuum leak. Check the carb mount. No cracks. Carb seated. Tighten evry screw on the carb save adjustment screws.
either way, a clogged fuel passage or a vacuum leak,
issue would be that you adjusted the carb to a faulty condition. Correcting that condition, one would need to adjust the carb again b4 it will run right.
all fuel filters good?
have you read the plug? Fuel wet? Or dry? Bogging down at rpm as well could denote rich. Do you have a slide type carb? Check the rubber diaphram on the slide for cracks.

The carb mount has no cracks and the carb is on tight. I tried adjusting the carb settings but did not my a difference

Adjust the points and timing.
The points gap and timing affect the spark.

Carburetors do not ware out.
If the bike ran fine at one time, the carburetor is not at fault.

Check the cylinder compression.
A bike that old probably needs an engine rebuild.

Adjust the valves.
Perform a cylinder leak down test to see if the valves are leaking.

Inspect the air filter.
Clean or replace as necessary.
