How to get daytime running lights to work?
I have a 2014 Honda Cbr500r and recently bought flush mount led front turn signals. The turn signals only have 2 wires (yellow and black) and the bike has has 3 (orange, green, orange/white one one side and then blue, green, blue/white on the other) I know to connect the green to black as they are the grounds, and I know to connect orange to yellow on one side and blue to yellow on the other. My question is where do I put the other wire on each side? Without the striped wires everything works other than daytime running lights.
As a guess I would say it needs to be a switched live.
I.E: this puts 12v power down the cable as soon as the ignition key is turned, and the ignition is LIVE. This means that the only way you can turn them off, is to remove the key (such as when the bike is parked). You can find another circuit in the fuse-box that is switched (NOT the ECU or brake circuits though) and try and find a 10A fuse. The bike may already have a circuit for DRLs so you could tap into that fuse if it is a s/live circuit.
This is how I would expect daytime running lights to be wired in and it is how I would personally wire them in.
Your new aftermarket lights were not made to be used as both running and turn signals.
You will have to buy different lights if you want both features.
- My Honda Prelude 2000 tail lights from the brakes don't work? They only work when I turn on the highlights and the highlights can't go down. I search and it doesn't have no switch for brakes. I look in the fuses and bulds too. How can I fixed this? And thanks who ever answer my question
- 2007 Honda rebel won't start lights don't work? So I left the key turned for a few hours and the battery died. I got it charged and checked and everything shows as being good. My roommate tried jump starting it when I went to work so I don't know if that hurt something. All the fuses are good. However when I turn the key the bikes lights don't come on, nothing works. I can put it in first and the get a running start to crank it by popping the clutch. That works for day time riding, but at night the lights are dim. Any ideas?
- Turn signals/hazard lights won't work in my Honda Civic 2000? One of my buddies installed an aftermarket radio in for me, but now my turn signals/hazard lights aren't working. The fuses looks fine, but i don't know jack about the wires behind the radio so i'm not sure what to do. I'm not trying to shell out a buck fifty for a shop if it turns out its just a plug that isn't plugged in. Any tips? Are there any wires that may be unplugged, loose, bent that I need to plug back in or take a look at? If so, what do they look like?
- My dash lights, turn signals, interior lights, radio won't work? So my 2002 honda civic coupe, the turn signals, dash lights, radio, interior lights don't work. Why? My hazards work fine. But all those things went out
