How to remove a choke cable on a 1986 honda shadow vt700? - 1
The choke plungers are on the outer "sides" of each carb.
The choke cables go through a black plastic nut, screw into the carburetor and attach to the choke plunger.
To remove the chokes -
Apply the choke lever on the handlebars as you normally would to start the engine.
That procedure will prevent any parts from falling off.
Turn the plastic nut counter clockwise to unscrew it from the carburetor.
The nuts are soft plastic and are very easy to strip (the wrench end and the threads) !
Be extremely careful.

- What tools do I need to remove the motor to my Honda Shadow Spirit? I have an old 2004 Honda Shadow Spirit with a blown motor. I want to try to take it apart and remove the engine. If I buy tool kit for the Honda Shadow will that come with all the tools I need, or are those tool kits more just for basic stuff. Just wondering if I need to buy a full socket set. And also if the bolts are metric sizes or standard?
- Honda shadow 1986 700 bolt missing? I need the size for the Brake Caliper mounting bolt, its missing and I have no idea where it is. If anyone has it it would be greatly appreciated.
