Is my Honda CBR 600RR Clutch going bad?

I have a 2008 Honda CBR 600RR and it is VERY easy to kill it while coming from a dead stop and especially when it is warmed up (175-200 degrees) I bought it with 7k miles on it and have put 3k on it myself in two riding seasons, doesn't seem to be getting any worse but it annoys me, the person I bought it from looked like he tried stunting and I know for a fact somebody did burnouts with it because there's rubber all over the under tail. What are some ways I could test the clutch to see if maybe its just an adjustment? I've adjusted it at the clutch lever and got it as good as I could but still not happy with it. I've heard these bikes are nearly indestructible so i'm hoping its just all in my head or something simple, thanks in advance.

Try really adjusting the clutch cable.
There are two adjustment areas, one at the lever the other at the engine.
Loosen both to full slack, start at the bottom to adjust about 3/4 of the slack out and than fine tune with the upper lever screw. Takes a bit of practice because you still need to leave a 1/8-1/4" play at the lever.

Possibly weak / broken clutch springs or fingers on the clutch basket. Could have been overheated, annealed and trashed by the previous owner. Get a shop manual for the bike. You might be able to fix it yourself if you have a metric socket set.

Are you by any chance using fully synthetic engine oil?
which causes the wet clutch to slip
best is to use any branded semi-synthetic 10W40 oil

You may not have adjusted the clutch freeplay correctly.

You can look for youtube videos for your bike. You can join and read how-tos on CBR forums. You can buy a repair manual (haynes or clymers) for your bike. You might be able to find a Honda shop manual for your bike.

You should also have a copy of the owner's manual. It will give you the parameters of what needs to be maintained and when.

Worn out clutch's slip, if anything that would make it less likely to kill the engine during take off! Killing the engine during take off from a dead stop is not a sign of a bad clutch it is a sign of poor rider skills the cable does not need adjusting your technique does! Try giving it a tad more throttle and release the clutch lever very slowly till you feel it just start to engage engine power then as you feel that first tiny forward nudge slow your release of the lever down even more to a barely perceivable level of movement and wait for the bike to fully start moving forward to about a walking pace then release it the rest of the way. Yes it will take some practice but it is not hard to learn and will quickly start to feel natural and become something you don't even think about doing!
