New Roketa Scooter vs 2002 Honda Reflex?

I asked a question yesterday about Chinese made scooters and I assume Roketas are also sub-par. I've found a 2002 250cc Honda Reflex for sale for $1500 with about 10,000 miles on it. I can buy a brand new Roketa 150cc for only about $1200 at a place near me. Is it really worth paying extra for a used Honda compared to a brand new but cheaper made Roketa? Thank you for the help, obviously I'm new to these machines.

Next question you should ask is 'How Many Of You '02 Roketa 150 Scooter Riders Have One With 10K?'

Rocketas are junk and not worth buying period.
I worked for a place that sold those and other Chinese scoots… Horrible!
They came back for repairs so much, the place folded in a few months.
I like have a Yamaha 50 and in 15,000 miles I have had to replace the rear tire and two plugs… It even has the original battery 13 years old!

The name Honda is shorthand for reliability.
While I haven't had one of their scooters, most of my bikes have been Hondas. All of them were about 15 years old. One had an existing electrical problem, which I cured after a shop rebuild of the charging system failed. The only other problems I ever had were a result of my crashing them, and even that didn't hurt 'em much.
The price you have listed seems high average for what I can see available. Maybe you could negotiate a bit.
The only reason I could see spending that amount on something new is purely as a toy. If it was supposed to be quality, why would it be roughly the same price as old, known quality?
A quick readthrough of owner reviews actually had me saying "Wow".
Maybe that's what I should get for the wife.

Mainland Chinese scooters have only one advantage- they're very cheap. This is why they get sold to new riders that don't know the quality, you get what you pay for. Locally the main scooter shops have a little list of decent brands and models- Taiwan and south Korean made scooters and mopeds are just below the Japanese- many of them are licensed copies of the Japanese models or are subcontracted to make the Japnese model in the Asian market under the Japanese name- ADLI for example makes the Yamahas with Yamaha badges for some markets, have ADLI badges for others. IF you want to learn to ride on a expendable scooter for one year, then a Mainland Chinese scooter makes some sense. The Honda would be good for 3 to 5 years but a new rider might crash it- that is where the 'expendable' factor come in.
