Newbie dirt bike rider. NEED OPINIONS?
So i recently (2 months ago) started to ride my friends 2 stroke honda cr80. This was the first bike I had ever ridden with a clutch. I have gotten used to using a clutch and shifting etc, and I generally feel very comfortable on this bike. Now here's the problem, I'm way to big for this bike. I'm 5'9" and weigh 180lbs. I'm buying this a bike for myself sometime this summer and I was considering buying a 4 stroke 250 (a trail oriented bike) do you think this is a good or bad idea considering my experience. Oh also i should add that i would be learning how to ride this bike in a big empty grass field. Feel free to ask any other questions you have. Anyway thanks for your help.
You need to have the bike fit you, and you need enough power to get up hills without stalling. The 250 should do well for you, until you are ready for more power. Back when I was 5'5" and 125 Lbs I had a great time dirt riding a Kawasaki G3TR 90 ( 2-stroke)- climbing, flying, sliding and sometimes falling down. Years later I settled in on a CL 350 Honda, which I didn't dirt ride, but commuted on, street and freeway for years. The Kawasaki A7 Avenger was my dream, but I knew I could not behave on it.
- What's a good beginner bike for a tall rider? I've always wanted to get a bike ever since my mom let me ride one when I was 12. I'm a 16 year old girl, 5'9", 135 pounds. I was thinking about a Triumph Bonneville (it's my dream to own one but now I'm thinking it's too small) or a Honda. Does anyone know what would be a good bike for me, even if I grow an inch or two more before I can afford one?
- Honda CBR600R rider height? I'm about 178cm s and I'm wonderig am I able to flat foot the ground on cbr600rr without lowering it, because I have intention to get one. Please answer I really want to get that bike
- Do you recommend a Honda Cbr1000 for a new rider? I just took the MSF class and got my motorcycle endorsement. I plan to buy a kawasaki ninja 250 or a 300 and ride it for 3 to 6 months to gain some experience than jump to the CBR1000. Would that be a good idea or could I just skip the 250 and go straight for the 1000?
- Do I need a motorcycle license to ride a street legal dirt bike? I'm thinking of purchasing a small 125cc dirt bike does about 67 miles a hour its completely street legal from the Honda dealer ship getting it off my buddy can I drive it with my regular class c licences or will I have to go through the motorcycle licences process
