Should I get a scooter or a beginner motorcycle?
I want to get the honda ruckus knock off. Its cheaper and its stronger then the ruckus it has 150 cc.
But I also like cruiser bikes liek the honda rebel 250.
I just don't have the money for it currently.
can you guys recommend some bikes similar to these two? And are cheaper than 4-5k?
maybe list the advantages and disadvantages I also want to it to have a little bit of speed because I live out in texas and the roads are huge. Maybe 55-60 miles per hour top speed is ok.
Detailed answers are appreciated!
Buy a used Rebel - or anything else you like in the category - the big three all have bulletproof small motorcycles and they are usually sold cheap when lightly used as they are beginner bikes and riders tend to grow out or quit riding them prettly quickly after getting a few thousand miles of seat time.
Ahh… 55-60 mph top speed and "Texas" does not compute. You will be needing 75 mph. You are young, you will not be happy being the slowest thing on the highway. That Ruckus clone is Chinese, generally not a good idea.
I DO ride a 150cc scooter, top tier, a Vespa. It does 65 mph (GPS verified) on the Freeway, maybe a bit. More. Advantage of scooter -- about 100 pounds lighter, don't have to swing a leg over the saddle. Disadvantage -- slow, slow acceleration, slow top speed. Scooter is great in the city, can do highway. A 250cc cruiser is good city and highway. A bigger bike can do city, is great on the highway.
Trivial to get a good, reliable used motorcycle for under $3K. Do it.
- Which Scooter should I get as my first ever motorbike? I will definitely buy the Honda Activa. No I'm confused between the 3 varients available in India. The Simple Activa, The Activa i & the Activa 125cc. My ride will be around 22kms daily through a mixture of bad & very bad roads. Also I'm a first time rider, means I will learn on this vehicle too. I'm proficient in bicycling. Please advice.
- Which motorcycle will be suitable for a beginner with little riding experience? I just recently took the MSF course and got my motorcycle endorsement. I want a bike I can ride for a year or two then eventually move to a cbr600rr. I plan to do some highway riding and computing within town. I'm 6'1 152 pounds, base on what I told you will you recommend the kawasaki ninja 300, the Yamaha R3, or the Honda cbr500r?
- Which motorcycle should I get for a beginner? I'm planning on buying a motorcycle because I'm turning 16 soon and I need a vehicle to commute to and from school. Which bike is reliable for a starter? Honda CBR 125CC, Yamaha R125, Ninja Kawasaki 250R or other bikes? I'm also in a budget and looking for a bike around $2,000 and will not go over $2500. I'm also 5'11 and 155 LBS.
- What's a good beginner motorcycle? So i want to get my motorcycle license soon, i have never driven a motorcycle in my life so what would be a good bike for beginners? I know how to drive a manual car so getting used to the gear changing shouldn't be to difficult. I was thinking about a Honda cbr300r.
