Should my Honda nighthawk still stay running when unhook the battery? - 1
Maybe yes and maybe no. If there are default switches/relays that run off the battery than they probably will shut off the engine.
Possibly not. If the stator and voltage regulator are working properly, it should keep running, but many motorcycles will not run without a battery.
Sure why not? The battery is only really there to turn the starter and run accessories at low engine speeds. Most motor cycles will generate their own electricity when running and only use the battery for extra load. Depending on your system, you can damage stuff running without a battery so try to avoid it.
Some bikes will some bikes won't, no big scare, the deeper question is why would you want to?
Running your motorcycle without a battery should be avoided. That may have worked back in the early 60's when everything had a generator but not now. The battery will flatten out and remove the alternator high voltage pulses that are harmful to the battery charging and regulating components.
Yes. The battery only starts the bike. It does not run on the battery. Thats what a ******* engine does
- Bought a 1985 Honda inspector kid told me it needed new battery but started with jump got new battery and it was dead next day? Pretty sure its the alternator just wanted some second opinions also I got the bike for 600 dollars you guys think thats a good deal
- Lawnmower won't stay running? I have a Honda lawnmower that has been great over the past few years. I started it up this season but it won't stay running. I do know how to describe what's going on, so here is a link to a video that I made. Please help:
- How much (and how quickly) will running appliances on my Honda Ridgeline's power outlet drain my battery? I'm looking into using two speakers that use around a total of 800-900W for about 2-3 hours. They will be plugged into a 120W adapter from my 12V power outlet in my 2007 Honda Ridgeline. If the vehicle is off and running this then how long will the battery last? Would it work if the engine was on? I'd love to see a formula as to how to equate this, but I have no clue what it would be.
- Have a 2003 Honda Rebel, won't start (no power) after it rained, I charged the battery, still nothing? Cold end is a little corroded but nothing serious, has been starting up before the rain. Suggestions? And it should be dry.
