What is wrong with my motorcycle? - 1

I have a 2002 honda shadow spirit 750. Sometimes when i start it i have to hold the start switch for like 6 seconds for it to fire up. It seems to happen after i ride for a while then take a break. I only seems to happen when i use the choke, if my bike is still warm enough to start up without the choke it usually fires up pretty quick. Also i use the choke in the morning and it starts up pretty quick. So it seems to only happen after i take a 30min-1hr break after riding for a while. Does this mean that my starter is going bad or what?

It doesn't mean anything is wrong. My guess is you're choking it too much and partially flooding it.

Dirty spark plugs will make a cold engine difficult to start.

  • You say do I need to keep the Bell helmet the renter wore when he slipped, and crashed my motorcycle? My motorcycle is the 2008? Honda CBR600RR super sport motorcycle. The Cofounder of Riders- Share.Com compensated me the full amount of the motorcycle repairer's written damage estimate. I was also fully compensated for the helmet, which the renter wore when he crashed my motorcycle and my helmet.

Note: My Honda Twinstar does not run my father had that bike since I was 7 or 8 and gave it to me when I was 9 but it sat out so long it doesn't work.

  • Accidentally Took out the wrong engine cap in my Motorcycle while trying to drain the Engine Oil? My Motorcycle is a Honda XRM. I was trying to change engine oil but opened a different screw/cap just beside the engine oil drain.A 5 inch long spring and a rod with holes came out, i put it back the way i think it should be, then opened the Drain cap, drained the engine oil and filled it with new oil. But when i start the motorcycle it sounded like there's something loose moving inside the engine. What is the rod and spring that came out? Is it critical?
