What's a cool first motorcycle?
I turn 16 in a week and am about to purchase my first street bike. I'm torn between a sport bike or cruiser. My parents want me to get a cruiser because they're scared of me on a sport bike lol. (I've rode dirtbikes since age 7 btw) If I go towards the cruiser route I would want something bada$$. I love bobber bikes. The Cleveland cycle works the heist is really cool being only 230cc and $3000 new. What are some other bikes like that? The honda rebel and the v star isn't bad but they don't look that cool. If I go the street bike route Should I get a 250 to start on? They just seem like no fun because they have no power. My budget is around $2000.
I have had bikes all my life and that's about 50 years on the road. Now a good road bike needs larger wheels, not sit too low. OK so I have a yammy 535, but the higher you sit the better for cornering as the centre line goes through the middle of the tyre at a greater angle of lean. Do not get a bike where you have to lean forward too much, it is tiring and fatigue kills. A sit up and beg position with a saddle height where you can plant your feet flat on the road comfortably and all the above will give you a good vehicle to get to know the road on. You can see therefore that choppers, bobbers and out and out sports bikes are not good for a leaner, nor really are bikes like mine, cruisers, they do not like corners.
In the EU you have to start at the bottom and work up, frankly a modern 125 is probably about right until you are used to it. I found that the safest was a 125 semi dirt bike like the old Honda 125 trail bike.
It's not them that are scared of you… It's the Insurance Companies. You have a budget, you want cheaper insurance, you want a Suzuki LS650. Was produced in 1986, can still be bought in 2014. Progressive said it was the least stolen bike and third least crashed -- which means lower insurance.
Lightweight, low, easy to ride, with a 652cc single it is the hole-shot king. You can easily find a registered plated running bike for under $2K. Easy to bob.
Any type of Yamaha is a perfect first bike
- How do I make a minivan look cool? I recently got my license and I'll be driving the family hand-me-down minivan, a Honda Odessy. Yeah, the gross family van you see literally everywhere. How do I make it cooler to drive? All my friends are driving cool cars, like Mazdas and Suburbans. How do I make the minivan seem cooler?
- 2001 Honda CR-V A/C will blow cool for 15-30 min then go warm? My 2001 Honda CR-V has 170,000 miles and it blows fairly cold air for the first 15-30 minutes but then gets warm until I let the car sit for a few hours. I have not checked the cabin filter yet since on this series of CR-V it is the hardest one I have had to get to, so wanted to ask first. Do you think it is that? Also, it doesn't sound like the compressor turns on or off if that makes a difference.
- Would this be a cool car in high school? I'm driving soon and I want a 1999-2000 Honda civic SI I would want want to put some stuff like a nice exhaust system and rims would that be cool?
- What type of cool decent not too expensive cars do you recommend for a college freshman? I want a cheap decent car but to be cool and have a weird some unique style, even if it's old model. I can get a honda or toyota 4cylinder but they are too plain and everywhere. I want something cool yet economic and cheap but I don't know A lot of models. I don't mind an old pontiac or buick coupe but I don't know which model and they are not economic right. I don't know ahh probably a stupid civic is all I got.
