Most cars since the 1970s have the voltage regulator built into the alternator.
Follow the connector with the 3 yellow wires under the seat the connect the Regulator and Stator. One side will go into the engine case the other to the regulator (usually under the seat on near the rear fender).
Next to the battery.
Remove the left frame cover.
It's about 3" square with fins on the face for cooling.
