Would you recommend the Honda cbr500r for a new rider?
I recently just took the MSF BRC and received my endorsement. I was thinking about getting the kawasaki ninja 300 (like do many people suggested) but I'm afraid after 500 miles of riding I might outgrow the bike and want something more. I'm willing to spend an extra $1,500 on a bigger displacement bike that I won't outgrow as fast. I'm currently looking at the Honda Cbr500r and I've even sat on a few if them. I'm going to test drive one in the near future to see if I like it. Would you recommend a 500cc bike over a 300cc for a beginner with little riding experience?
Well… You are an idiot and you know that a 300 can only do 100 mph and you need to go faster. You might as well start with a 160 mph 4-cylinder 599cc racing motorcycle… Or a 180 mph liter super sport. Anyway you will never learn how to ride to the limits, will never understand the fun riding a 250 and passing the super sports on the mountain roads.
And you will find other idiots that will agree with you. I wouldn't recommend a 500, or even a 300. You really should start with smaller, such as a Honda From 125. But since you can't understand anything other than top speed straight line I'm not going to try to educate you.
If you outgrow the 300 in 500 miles then you are not doing it right.
I would not recommend the 500, there's just not that much of an advantage over the 300 power-to-weight wise, at the rate you fear you would outgrow that within 700 miles.
Get insurance quotes before you get too excited.
Well first of all, congratulations!
The 300 is more than adequate but I think the 500 is bigger, faster, not much heavier. The real difference will be at higher speeds. If you're doing more than, say, 5 or 10 miles on the Interstate, the 500 is worth it. Its still not exactly rocket ship.
Honda yfz350
They are good bikes for noobs.
500 miles is just a day ride once you've been riding a while. The 300 will do that with no problem. It's just what you need to build the experience and stamina for a 500 mile ride. That should take about a month of every day riding.
At least your starting to think - the CBR1000 idea was a bad one.
- What would you do if a lady around 30-37 told you that you were useless and would never amount to anything? She's a well dressed white lady with a brand new Honda SUV and she has a daughter that looks about 12 that is also well dressed and the girl is being rude and both are being very rude to the guy at the counter at Subway. Would it be wrong to curse out the old witch who tried to start a fight and cursed out the subway worker and you?
