Taking my parent's car for a small drive. Am I in trouble?
Just about 2 hours ago, my parents left, and said they would be back at 11pm. Right now, it is 8:40pm, and there's a spare car in the garage, that only is used when 1 of my parent's 2 cars breaks down.
I'm 14 years old, about 5'6'' and I took out the spare car, and 97' Honda Odyssey, for some driving on a private road. I did not go on the double yellow line roads, I'm really afraid that I will be in an accident. I have driven it around for maybe 40 minutes, and parked it back in the garage. The thing is, I feel extremely horrible about this, and I'm freaking out that when they come home, they'll see something that is off, and know I took out the spare car. I never went above 25 mph, and I'm really afraid. I never defy my parents, and listen to them always. They aren't that strict, but I think if they find out, I will be punished severely. Should I just wait, and will the guilt just go away? Should I just confess? Please help me.
Added (1). No, I didn't get into an accident.
Well. If you got into an accident or something with the car like damaging the car, you should tell them. Just be honest. You chose to take out the car anyways even knowing that your parents were going to be mad. So just confess it. I don't know why you're feeling guilty about it. You took the car out knowing the consquences…
CHILL, you didn't burn the house down, you took the family car out… Safely… For a few minutes. Deep breath. We all did it. Now stop worrying. NO don't think about what could happen, what may happen. Its no good for you. You had fun, go find something else to do.
I'd confess. Even if they end up yelling at you, your conscience is clear and your memories of that day won't big your conscience.
No need to tell them. This posting is being automatically sent to them via email. Bueller? Bueller?
Just try to cover your tracks completely, if its brought up say that you don't know. And what's the point in driving around in a mini van, https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSOWxDRM230vfWFfEKsSXN2nNcWzhwvh-G1ve8HEd6_FTexNFi8
Did you get into an accident or not?
Well, you know it was wrong but I'm 50 and I did it as a teen too so I've got no room to cast stones.
Anywhere that requires insurance to be operative isn't a "private road". You're in big trouble.
Wouldn't try driving again without a license but no harm done. Get a license, learn to drive now.
tell your parents only if you want to clear your conscience
Id confess but NEVER do it again
Am I shocked? NO… That's your call… I hope you don't crash or injure yourself or someone else.
If you are stopped by police without a license you will be waiting another year or three before you are allowed to drive… There are consequences, both personal and legal…
methinks its a bad decision…
- Small family car for learning to drive? Hi, I was wanting some help to do with what car to buy. The basic rundown is that I'm wanting a car a 17 year old can learn to drive in, so there's the obvious of low insurance, safety and reliability etc. It needs five seats as it will also be used as a general family car and can be up to about £6000. I have been looking around and so far am leaning towards the Honda Jazz, but any advice on the subject would be very much appreciated.
- Difference between driving in a big car and a small car? So I've been practice driving with my mom's Honda pilot. What is different in a small car when driving. Do I have to pull that ebreak when parked on hill and downhill. I'd have to pay this driving ed place to use their car and a sponser. Also i'm so frustrated I can't get parallel parking at all.
- Is it easy to drive a small scooter without ever going on highway in Phoenix? Hi. I'm moving to Phoenix and I will buy a 150cc Honda PCX. In New York, there are places you can't go easily without going on highway or streets where you have to drive fast (like when you cross the bridges). But when I look at the map of Phoenix, it is very square, and you can go everywhere buy driving on small streets and boulevards only.
- Is trouble shooting a helmet lock the same as trouble shooting a key stuck in a door? I have a Honda VFR and the key is stuck in the helmet lock. Its all the way in and turned slightly but won't budge. I just need to know if i should try lube before i call a locksmith.
