Chevy Tahoe As First Car?
My Uncle says he will give me his 2012 Tahoe, I will have to pay for the insurance and gas though. Is it a good choice? I have experience, I have been driving my Grandma's 2008 Honda Pilot for nearly 2 years and I sorta like big cars since I'm high above everyone. Except a lot of my friends keep telling me "Chevy is Unreliable" "Its Too Big You can't handle it" etc, I can also possibly get a Volvo XC60 from my Grandfather, but I have heard that it requires more maintenance than Nikki Minaj's ***, and it is very expensive to do that maintenance. What do you suggest? Volvo XC60 or Tahoe? Which is a better choice, I have a lot of money saved up so if you have any other choices under 20k I would be happy to hear so. I care more about luxury than speed.
Great car especially since it's free but it eats gas
It's free. Take it
Your friends must drive Fords. Chevys aren't know to be super reliable like Hondas or Toyotas, but they are SOLID(can't say for the 4/6cyl, but the V8 trucks/truck based are good)vehicles that will go 200k miles as long as you keep up with basic maintenance(coolant flush, oil changes, drivetrain fluid changes). Mechanically they are pretty reliable. Can't say much about the plastics(like door handles, radio, seats etc. Minor stuff).
Volvo XC60s are kinda lame. It's carries a BMW or Mercedes price/repair tag, but without the German brand image. If you're gonna be paying $3k for repairs either way might as well just get a car with a prettier badge.
My unreliable, people mean they do have a somewhat greater number of little things go wrong. But if you look at 20 year old SUVs on the road, most of them are Ford and Chevy.
If you are getting it given to you, who cares.
Give your Uncle a big thank you, get him a pack of good beer and take the Tahoe! Since you are an experienced driver already, I guess it will be easy for you to handle this powerful beast! It just needs some time, patience will be rewarded.
The Chevrolet Tahoe is a good SUV and easy to drive for a big vehicle
- Which is better, a 2009 Honda Fit or a 2011 Chevy Aveo? The Honda Fit is priced at $10,490 and has 67,963 miles. The Chevrolet Aveo is priced at $11,490 and has 38,503 miles. The Aveo is also red which I'm worried about the paint fading. I've heard Honda's are really reliable cars but this one has a bit more miles on it, I'm not too familiar with Chevy's at all but I just need to know which is a better choice or if both of them are overpriced.
- Is it worth buying a used Chevy Volt with over 100K miles on it? The price is right, but is it worth it? I know I would have to install a power charging station which is an additional 1000 dollars. There's one for sale at 14,500 dollars… But most used Volts are around 23,000 dollars. My other two considerations are a new 2015 Honda Fit or a used Mark 6 VW Golf TDI I've seen people on youtube who average 120 mpg with the volt! One guy's was even 1000 mpg, I don't think he even brought it to the gas station since he bought the car!
- What car should I buy Dodge, Honda, Chevy? This will be my first car. I'm planning to get a used car under 17,000$ After did some research, here are three cars that I'm considering to get Honda civic 2012 or above Dodge Dart 2013 or above Chevy Sonic 2013 If these cars are not a good choice to get for a first car, Please feel free to leave any comment or thought about which car should I get instead of these three.
- Can i install a vetec engine in 2007 chevy hhr? My friend had an honda civic si got hit on the side by a truck the car is wrecked and he is willing to sale me his engine for dirt cheap if i can install it to my hhr
