Turning 16 soon should I get a Kia Optima or Honda Pilot?

Both are going to be 2015 versions. However the pilot version can go as low as 2913.

Sorry I meant the Honda can go as low as 2013

Neither. A new 16 year old driver does not need a car this new. Get yourself a nice car that costs under $10,000. Insurance will be much cheaper, and if you damage the car it will not be as big a deal as on a new car.

Personally, I think it's a smart move to buy a new/newer vehicle for first time drivers. Not only does it have the latest safety technology, but they are more reliable, and should still be on the road after they graduate from college. I know many of teens that have bought an older vehicle, and was already looking for a replacement within a year of owning them.

As for the vehicle, I lean more towards the Kia Optima. It has a more modern styling, where the Honda Pilot is a little dated. But, both of the vehicles are reliable and rank high in terms of owner satisfaction, so whichever one you choose, you're not going to be making a mistake. It just comes down to your personal styling preference, and what you will be using it for.

However, I would not get my hopes up high for a new car. You might have to settle for a used. But, it all comes down to your budget.

  • What is pilot sales? I have heard that Honda did pilot sales of HR-V in the US I do not live in the US? So I do not know what does it mean. I'm taking about the following article: http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2015/08/10/2016-pilot-could-place-honda-among-the-chart-toppe.aspx
  • Should I try to get a new car soon? I have a 1996 Honda Odyssey with about 227k miles on it I mean it runs well it starts up quickly but the interior is pretty messed up and it's pretty slow as in I usually have to go 40mph in a 35 zone to keep up but I was thinking should I try to get a new car with less miles?
  • Should I purchase a Honda Fit or a Kia Soul? I'm on the fence between the both based on company standards. Honda has always made a reliable car, but the Kia has better warranty and better features. Help me! I'm a college student looking for a fun, yet reliable car!
  • 2014 Kia Optima, Hyundai Sonata, or Honda Accord? Which one is more gas efficient, safer in accidents, could require lower insurance costs, and is best for a first time driver (who isn't a teenager). Also, which one's more fun to drive? If there' anything else that differentiates one car from the rest, please let me know.
