Should i buy a 2002 honda with 220 000 miles on it? - 1

220k miles is alot for any car. Bound to have faults, I would avoid it but that's just my opinion.

It all depends on the vehicle properties and capabilities, I would suggest you get car that will transport you of any color but black and white. Cause they say if the car is one of those fast ones and with white or black it cost even more so just a car that doesn't go too fast but that will help you.

Your choice

Only if you want a "project" car. Othewrwise look for something that has less mileage on it.

It may have a multitude of problems or it might be almost as perfect as the day it was assembled. So much depends on how it was serviced and maintained. If the last owner (or any owner in the past 15 years) was the kind to skip an oil change to save a buck, then you should avoid it.

Sure, for a beater.

That depends on 2 things. What condition is it in? And, How much do they want for it. It may be a good car for the money if it's clean and well maintained. My 04 Accord went 293,000 miles and still had the original clutch. I would still be driving it if my daughter hadn't wrecked it.

Yes you should, these Hondas are built to last for long time But check 2 things BEFORE buying

1) has the timing belt, water pump, pulleys been replaced?
2) is it the original transmission and is it slipping or shifting aggressively? (98-02 accords are known for bad transmissions and costly replacement ($1200+)

And of course, make sure its been maintained, doesn't leak oil and you should have mentioned the price as you can get ripped off

Hi No it will be a money pit.

  • Would you purchase a 2004 Honda pilot for $6,000.000 that has 216,000 miles on it? I'm just browsing online looking at cars for sale and a lot of them have 200k or more miles on them and they want $4,000 or more. Why do people sale their cars for such a high price with a lot of miles on them? Its not just Hondas its all types of cars private and dealers as well
  • 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000? Is this a good deal? I need to buy a new car and today I got an offer on a 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000. I'm a 19 year old girl and I know nothing about cars D: Are Honda Fits good cars? Should I buy this with so many miles already on it? Also, I like to travel. Will this car be safe to drive long distances?
  • Is it okay to buy Honda CR-V with 75,000 miles? I'm considering to buy either 2008 Honda CR-V with 75,000 miles or 2008 Toyota RAV4 with 66,000 miles. Both have clean records and are in similar price range. They are all Front Wheel Drive, as I won't need 4WD or AWD. I'm a recent graduate and this will be my first car purchase. RAV4 had two owners, but it looks like they both have clean records. Just wondering if either will last long without much problems.
  • Should I buy this 2008 Honda Civic LX for $5,299 (price is negotiable and it has 163,000 miles)? Per the owner, it's been well maintained (I will get an auto shop to inspect it to confirm that). I see a lot of honda civics for sale now, so I do not understand why so many are for sale since they are reliable. Should I buy this vehicle?
