Most reliable engine in the world is Toyota and Honda?
The most reliable engine in the world is Toyota and Honda? - 1
Hi the issues are not the makers but engine design. The engine tolerances used to tighter. This meant that engines needed to run in over a period of time due to the materials they where made of. So the difference is what car engines are made of no longer just metal. So they are now made of composite materials such as a plastic and metal mixture. All mechanical metal parts wear more than these composite materials. So there's less wear. However the manufacturing processes involved cost more to develop. Which some of the cheaper and less willing motor manufacturers are prepared to invest in.
Not at all. Industrial engines are far more reliable, at least in terms of life span. At work we had a communication site that was powered by a 40 kW propane fueled generator with a Caterpillar engine. When we finally got commercial electric power to the site and shut down the generator, I calculated the distance it would have powered a truck at 60 mph… It was just short of 4 million miles.
I would go with Toyota, but anything post 2000's tends to have too many things making it more complicated than it needs to be, and hurts long term reliability
On the road, those big rig diesel tractors generally go 500,000 to 1,000,000 miles before overhaul.
The engines that are considered most reliable are those manufactured by Rolls Royce, which is why they are the most commonly used engines in Western commercial airliners.
From an affordability point of view for passenger vehicles though, Toyota has consistently been the top ranked or close to it for reliability for some decades now.
Both the cars having powerful and reliable engine but there are few points which make one superior than another.
Honda Engine specification:
1)Honda has 1.5 litre i-Dtech Diesel engine.
2)It produces 98.6bhp of power and 200 Nm torque.
3)Engine Displacement is 1498 cc.
4)Mileage of Honda is 20-25kmpl.
5)Fuel capacity is 35 Litre.
Toyota Engine Specification:
1)It has 1.4 litre D-4D Diesel Engine.
2)It produces 67bhp of power and 170Nm torque.
3)Engine Displacement is 1364 cc.
4)Mileage of Toyota is 18-23kmpl.
After comparing both the car engine specification, it is proved that Honda engine is better than Toyota.
As far as strictly automobile engines go? I'd say neither Honda nor Toyota, although they are both excellent in most cases. The old Benz 5-cylinder diesels used in the W123 easily rack up hundreds of thousands of miles. A Volvo P1800 currently had the record with over 3,000,000 miles.
The engines in most vehicles will outlive the body. There are plenty of engines that are scrapped because the rest of the vehicle fell apart.
As far as engine reliability and longevity the Honda has be tops for many years running. However, Toyota has a better overall reliability record as an automaker.
- World problem for physics? A 1255 kg Honda is going through a school zone at 5.0 x 101 km/h and then the driver quickly steps on the brakes to make the car come to a complete stop by skidding 3.0 x 101 m. What is the work done on the car by the frictional forces? (Hint: the answer is negative because the force and the displacement are in the opposite directions.)
- Which trucks are the most reliable or easiest to fix if something goes wrong? I'm searching for a pick up truck thats reliable. I know everyone has their preference. I'm searching between a ranger s10 z71 f150 and gmc mid sized trucks. Any other suggestions would be great. I know some cars like honda are very easy to fix and i'm just wanting a truck that I can easily fix if something goes wrong.
- What is the most reliable car you've ever owned and how many miles did you put on it? Mine was Honda Passport with 250,000 miles bought brand new. Yeah I know it was rebadged Isuzu Rodeo but it was surprisingly reliable with no major problems.
- Most reliable car for $1,000? I've been looking at Toyota and Honda from 1995-2004 because they get great gas mileage, but in terms of reliability who makes the best 10 year old cars?
