Used car or new car for first time driver?
Which one is better? I'm 28 years old, first time driver, and it will be my first time buying a car.
I'm interested in getting a Mini Cooper or fiat. I don't want a huge car like Honda, ford, Nissan, etc. I'm very tiny and short, 5ft tall and weigh 90lbs. I prefer 4 door, automatic, and a smart car. Since I'm short and I have short legs, I will need to get the gas and pedal fix.
here are my pros/cons of used n new car:
Used:
1. Cheaper than a new car.
2. Car tends to have a lot of problems, and will cost $$$$ to get it fix, because of the previous owner(s).
New:
1. Everything runs perfect.
2. Once you buy the car full price, the market value will drop once I drive it and own it. But I don't care. I'm not planning on selling the car, I will use it forever.
3. It cost more money.
If the used car cost me $20k, while the new car cost $23k. Then I would rather buy the new car, because it is only $3k more.
Please help and please tell me what model should I get for fiat or minicooper.
I'm not interested in Honda, Nissan, Kia, ford, saburu, gmc, Toyota, bmw, Mazda, etc. ONLY MINICOOPER AND FIAT.
Please give me some advise.
The used car will cost less, Run as well as a new one (because of the previous owner). Have less warranty.
You limited you selection to 2 fairly rare makes. My advice would be to look for one of the most popular makes. Corola Civic But you do not want to hear that.
Most 3yr old cars are about 1/2 the price of a new one.
You might want to look at the online reviews for a mini cooper before you buy one.
The Mini and the Fiat are both lousy choices for a car-first car or not.
NEVER buy a car planning to own it forever. What is some drunk plows into you next week and you are upside down on your note?
You need to be looking a at 3-4 year old used car. One of the more popular (i.e. The ones that sell the most) cars.
Just remember, the $23K new car will only be worth $20 the day after you drive it off the lot. So, it that "new car smell" worth $3k+ to you?
Can you afford to PAY $3k+ for that "new car smell?"
- Is 2004 Hyundai Sonata V6 too much for first time teenage driver? I recently bought 2004 Hyundai Sonata for $3000 (with my money that I earned by working at little caesars) It is my first car and is my first year driving (yes, I did all driver's training and such). All my friends have small cars like Toyota Corolla, VW Jetta, and Honda Civics. I'm aware that my car eats much more cars than my friends cars. Is my car way too much for me to handle? Should I sell my car and get a different one?
- Best Honda model for first driver? I'm looking for my first car. All I care is that it is not too expensive, its reliable, and its safe. What is the best model for that and why? If there are multiple types of cars within that model, which type should is the best and why? Also, it must be EX AWD
- Taking my car into the shop for the first time (my first car and first time at a shop)? Recently acquired a 1999 Honda Accord for $1500 with only 160k. Runs great but my dad checked car and said oil is low and then proceeded to check the rest of the car and said all my fluids need to be replaced. What does that mean and what is the price for fixing this? I want to go to the shop with some sort of understanding of the prices so I know if I'm being ripped off or not.
- I'm getting my first car soon. I'm a teen driver. What car would you recommend? I was considering a toyota solara (2005/06) Honda accord lx 2008 Honda accord sport 2007 Or any other type of honda in the 2005-2007 range.
