What happens if you drive a car in second gear at high speed for quite some distance?

I have a new Honda with little less than 1200 miles on it. Today while driving the car I put the gear in S (2) and drove at speed of 50+ mph for around 6-7 miles.
I felt something off about the car as the RPM was between 3500 to 4000 r/min while usually it is between 1500 to 2000 r/min. Also the engine sound was not it usual quite sound that comes - I thought because of the cold weather maybe it was sounding louder.
It was after stopping at a couple of red lights that I noticed that gear was at S(2)
I'm quite paranoid about my car and mode of transportation.
Could someone let me know what are the effects of my driving?

You'll burn out 2nd gear.

You can cause extreme engine and transmission damage.

You wasted a bit of gas, that's all.

the engine can run all day at 4,000 rpm and suffer no harm, and the transmission was under no great stress from doing this either.

But pay more attention to your driving and instruments, they put them there for a reason, to let you know you left the car in the wrong gear.

This is another one of those "whatever damage you did, is already done" type questions. It should be OK though.

  • What happens if you don't get approved for a car loan after your purchase? I have bought a car two weeks ago and at the time we applied for 20k $ car loan, we deposited 8k and I was planning to deposit another 4k next week. Now we have received the letter( third party) that we're not approved for the car loan. Does that mean I have to return the car? If so why the Honda company (where we bought the car) didn't tell us anything before we receive the letter? What options do I have?
  • Why is it that some husbands let their wives drive luxury cars while they drive ordinary cars? I've been observing some of my neighbors (one of them is a stay at home mom) and the husbands drive ordinary cars like Honda Accord or Honda Pilot. But the wives tend to drive luxury cars like Acura TSX or Acura RDX (some form of luxury car). What is the reason for this? Why do wives get to drive luxury cars while the husband drives ordinary car? I should say some of them. Its not a problem though but was only curious. The neighbors are Asians actually.
  • Is it ok to take off from second gear on my motorcycle? I ride a small honda cbr 125 and first gear is extremely short would there be anything wrong with starting from second gear from a stop instead of first?
  • Can you drive around a motorcycle in 1st gear the city? I've read that some sports bikes can do like 80mph before redlining in first gear. Could i ride a sports bike around the city an never get out of 1st or 2nd gear an ride safetly? I have a automatic 79 honda motorcycle which i like no clutch an have had a hard time riding manual bikes mostly down shifting an locking the rear wheel up. I was thinking of geting a 250 ninja or cbr to learn to shift i live in a city an don't usually go past 35mph
