What mileage will honda head gasket blow?
What mileage will honda head gasket blow?
It may never blow, and the engine / car could wear out and die of old age with the gasket still good.
Usual reason is corrosion, or overheating. Old or wrong coolant, or a leak in the system that allows the engine to overheat.
The head gasket is not a part with a designed life like brake pads or timing belts that need to be replaced regularly.
I had a honda with 236,000 miles, the head gasket failed at 150,000 ish. And they are not too difficult or expensive to replace on the 4 cyl models. Most of the time, aside from major rust issues, it is worth repairing an economy car like a honda. Any car you buy will have repairs needed eventuallly.
Who said it will?
I've never had a head gasket fail on any car I've had.
2010 Accord's expectancy?
Older honda's are rated at 90,000 miles so after that it is a risk, maybe 110,000 if your lucky.
Don't risk more than 100,000 miles, if your smart.
That is an issue not related to miles.
- How much is an 89 honda prelude si with blown head gasket worth? I have an 89 honda prelude si with almost 200k miles on it. Interior 10/10 exterior a 6/10. Head gasket is blown but still runs and drives good. All stock. How much is it worth? In boise id by the way
- Worth buying a honda civic si with replaced head gasket? Looked at a 2008 honda civic si that has 73,000 miles the car was flawless inside and out. Then the owner told me it blew the original HG. He took it to a machine shop and then did the rest of the work himself. And now runs fine. Is this car still worth buying or should I walk away?
- Honda Civic 2000 blown head gasket. Worth fixing? I have a Honda Civic 2000 4door and I believe I had blown a head gasket. It isn't running and its leaking water/coolant. I'm not sure if it is worth fixing or just selling and moving on. Also not sure how much it would be.
- Head gasket replaced, oil goes low? I have a 2002 Honda Civic. Less than a year ago I got the head gasket replaced/repaired. Ever since then, when I fill my oil up and drive for a few weeks, the oil is low to almost empty with no signs of oil leaking anywhere. I got my oil changed on the 2nd of June and today, the 28th, its practically empty again. What could cause this? I have also bought a bottle of Lucas Engine Oil Stop Leak
