A mechanic says my cv joint is bad but I don't really hear any noise from it?

A mechanic says my CV joint is bad but I don't really hear any noise from it. It looks like its in a wrong angle, but I'm not a mechanic to be certain. I have a Honda City 2004.

Any help?

There can be 2 reason why it is bad, either you cv boot is ripped open and throwing grease or it is worn in the inside, which in very tight turns you may here a clicking noise. Since you own a Honda the boot is just broken most likely slinging grease everywhere which eventually will seize up and break in half leaving your car broke down.

That's right. YOU are not a mechanic. Therefore, you have to trust the judgment of those who ARE.

If you don't trust what your mechanic is telling you, then go find another mechanic that you CAN trust.

You are not a mechanic so a mechanic is going to have to do the work. If you don't TRUST any of the mechanics you've been to you should scrap the car and NEVER buy another one OR become a mechanic yourself. I have NEVER heard such a bunch of Bull in my life.

When it BREAKS you will know YOUR opinion meant sh*t and the mechanic was right. As vehicle owner you have the right to decide on preventative repair or NECESSARY repair!
