2007 HONDA ACCORD TRANSMISSION?
I have a hard time changing gears into first, second, and reverse my clutch is fine, and works fine but I have a hard time getting into those gears… My clutch fluid is clean and full. Does anyone know what can be wrong? There's no leaking in the master cylinder and it is full.
Those are symptoms of a dragging clutch. How to know for sure? Check that you can shift into each of the gears with the engine off, then start the engine in neutral and keep the clutch depressed while trying each gear. If you have the problems with the lower gears, and grinding trying to get in reverse, the gearbox will have to be removed and the clutch replaced. Top suspects are a seized pilot bearing or a "popped spring" on the clutch disk. It is also possible the input shaft is rusty and hanging up on the disk but that is not so common as either of the others.
How does the pedal feel? Try bleeding the master and slave cylinder first. Check if the slave cylinder push rod is working. If the slave cylinder is adjustable, adjust it. Check the free play on the pedal. No joy, it is time to drop the transmission (transaxle) and inspect the clutch.
- Transmission going out on friend's 2004 Impala. Is it possible to install a manual transmission taken from a 1992 Honda Civic in this car? Not worth replacing trans on a car this old, but the engine and everything else are still perfect. My friend was able to get a free manual trans from a 1992 Honda Civic. But i'm not sure whether or not you can use a trans from a different vehicle
- HONDA 2007 ACCORD MANUAL TRANSMISSION PROBLEM? Clutch fluid is full everything is checked besides transmission. When I start the car it won't go into first gear from neutral but if I start it in first it goes smooth and easy up to third gear but fourth and fifth kinda hard. Reverse is an issue too… Any ideas?
- Can you put a 7 speed manual transmission in a car that comes stock with a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission? I'm just curious to know if this is possible or if anyone has tried it. I wany to know what is possible to get the most out of a car. I'm probably going to be getting an acura(no hondas) and doing the necessary upgrades, turbo and all that. If anyone has any experience let me know
- How far will my 2007 Honda Accord Sedan go on full tank? I'm planning a road trip soon and I'm wondering if it'll last about 400 miles on a full tank. Any of you car experts know? It's a V6. Eats mucho gas:/
