Car Dealership calls me back 5 Days after getting my new car asking for it back?

So I was in Arizona training for a new job. I currently live in California but like i said I was training. Anywho while i was there i took my car to a dealership (honda) my car is a honda. Anywho I walked out with a brand new 2019 accord. I had signed the contract and I thought everything was fine. So I ended up going back to California 2 days later. They called me 5 days after getting my car and told me that "Honda" decline the deal? I'm in California and there's no way i'm driving back to arizona to give them back my new car and taking my old one. I just don't have time for that, I do not know what to do or who to talk to. Help, please. I have read how they have 10 days for after signing the contract to basically see if they could finance me or something. I don't know much about these kinds of things, should I call an attorney or? Blah.

Your options are:
- find a loan through a bank or credit union
- return the car
- keep the car and get arrested for stealing a car

They spotted you the car contingent on being approved. You were not approved. You do not own the car, you get to return it. Next time you make sure you're approved before you drive off the lot, or get you own loan from the bank.

I bet they are bluffing. Tell them you have to travel back and will be there in 2 days. Ask them if your car is ready to be picked up so you can return "their" car to them.

Gosh that sounds like a personal problem. They can call you back whenever they want, "Andy".

You may not have to. If you don't they will come get it and keep your old car unless & until you pay the repo fee which will be high from a different state.

You might want to MAKE TIME. I have this theory that one car is better than none.

You can pay an attorney who will tell you that you are free to pay cash and keep the car. Not much else he can do.

Here's the problem. When you signed your papers, one of those papers was a loan application. The dealer then had to try to get his finance company, Honda Finance, to approve the application, provide you the loan, and pay the dealer for his car. That didn't happen. For reasons possibly associated with your credit and/or your income/debt, you were refused. Now, you have no loan and a car that doesn't belong to you -- and maybe no old car car back in Arizona.

What can you do? Try to find your own financing there in California, so that you can pay the dealer in Arizona. Go to banks, credit unions, and finance companies. However, if you had problems with Honda, you may also have problems with other lenders, for the same reasons. If you don't get financing, you can't keep the car. It MUST go back to the dealer, since he still owns it.

You can try to finance it on your own. Failing that, you have to return the car. They will charge you with theft if you don't.

That, basically, is called Terms and Conditions or in other words the small print which you didn't read but still apply.
Basically, you don't take a car until your finance has been approved. Saves you a lot of time and money.
Buy in haste repay at your leisure.

You're the California resident that tried to buy a car in Arizona, so getting the car back to the dealer is your problem, not theirs. They obviously couldn't finance you.

Return it. Your loan was disapproved.

  • Will a car dealership work with me if I'm gonna lease a new car, while trading in the car I have, which has an outstanding loan against it? The car I have now has a loan against it which is worth more than the trade in value of the car by about $5000. If me and a family member were BOTH looking to lease a new car (so 2 new cars), does anyone know if a dealership will be working to work with me in any way? Also the cars looking to be leased are not high end or luxury cars, they d be coming from a dealership like Honda, Toyota, or Subaru.

  • How do I get license plates and registration after purchasing a car from the dealership? I bought a "certified used" Honda from a honda dealership in North Carolina. They gave me a slip of paper that says 30 day temporary marker receipt and a paper tag. I paid for the tax and tag so I assume they are handling this. But do I need to pay them a visit to pick up my tag? How does this work. It wasn't explained well. Any advice is appreciated. I haven't calle them yet because I want to be a bit more educated so I don't sound stupid when I call.
  • Getting a refund from a dealership on a cancelled warranty? I bought a used car from metro Honda and added the extended warranty for $1600. I cancelled it the following day and was told I would receive a refund with in 2-3 billing cycles. It has been 3 months now and haven't seen a credit on my account. I plan to go down tomorrow to inquire about it and express my unhappiness. What can I do to ensure I will receive my refund/credit. I do have a copy of the cancellation form dated and signed.
