Dealership wrecked my car what should I do?
I dropped my 2005 Honda Accord off at the Dealership to fix the "Check Engine" light--found out that the light just needed to be reset.
But then, in the process of fixing the light the Dealership wrecked my car. They gave me a rental car and replaced my bumper.
I did not take pictures of the damages but asked to have pictures sent to my email --just wanted the bumper repaired because according to the Dealership that was the only damage. (Dealership gave me $60 off my $250 bill) :(
But now… 2 weeks later I notice that near the bottom on my door are 3 outward dings like they had to push out a dent; also, the rubber piece that goes along the door, above the "dings", was painted black with a small "paint brush" trying to cover the white paint that was also on my bumper when it was hit.
What should be my next step and what should I request as compensation? Should I start with asking for the paper work and pictures sent to the insurance co and the collision company? What about compensation?
Added (1). The Dealership wrecked my car and lied about how much damage was done, what should I do?
They need to fix it back the way it was. The check engine light came on for a reason, and simply turning it off doesn't fix what caused it to come on. It does not cost $250 to turn off the check engine light. You need to look at all the work orders and invoices for work you authorized. Sic your insurance agent on them. What they've done is like "hit and run".
A 2005 Honda is a "beater". Complain if you like but it is an old car and do not expect to get much more than what you have.
Don't do anything. The car is too old to worry about.
Have you not even contacted your insurance company dumbass? FAIL
Its there insurance that takes care of it
Hi so what did you expect to happen by taking it to a back street garage. As it is now some 12 years old. It is no longer considered a modern car but a wreck anyway. As 8 years is the life expectancy of the modern car it is of no great loss.
Waiting two weeks to look at it is not the best thing!
Whatever you do, DON'T take your car! Leave it there and tell them to adequately repair it. I would demand a "loaner" car, but if they won't give one, then get one from elsewhere and contact a lawyer. Do NOT take your car unless they repair what they damaged.
You taking your car efore it is fully repaired is greatly to their advantage.
You MUST take evidence photographs whenever something wrong or improper happens, just to protect yourself. You must give maximum effort otherwise the wrongdoer wins and escapes his duty with little or no liability.

- Will a car dealership work with me if I'm gonna lease a new car, while trading in the car I have, which has an outstanding loan against it? The car I have now has a loan against it which is worth more than the trade in value of the car by about $5000. If me and a family member were BOTH looking to lease a new car (so 2 new cars), does anyone know if a dealership will be working to work with me in any way? Also the cars looking to be leased are not high end or luxury cars, they d be coming from a dealership like Honda, Toyota, or Subaru.
- How much should I expect to buy in fees when buying a new motorcycle at a dealership? I want to buy a Kawasaki Ninja 300 ABS that has an MSRP of $5,299 in the state of California. The dealership I plan on going to is Fremont Honda Kawasaki. I would be financing the motorcycle. Up-front, how much should I expect to pay, assuming I buy the bike at MSRP? Thanks! Also, what information would they need? ID etc? I'm 17 and have no permit or license for any sort of vehicle. Could my mother buy it for me? She has a Class C license only.
- Can a car dealership change the price of a car? There's a 2016 Honda Civic couple that is 19,650. I saw that the msrp was the same price. But this car is two years old already. Can they change the price?
- Can a car dealership not allow me to own my car after the 3 year lease? I got a 2014 Honda acord and I would like to continue owning it after the 3 year lease. I know it's a option, but I'll have too many miles past the 30,000 and I'm wondering if they'll want to take the car back and make me pay for the miles I passed. I'm planning on wasting a lot of miles, because I visit my parents that are 80 miles away from me and I'll be doing boxing that's 60 miles away from me.
