Does a clutch performance make a difference?

My clutch is starting to slip so its time to change my clutch. I was wondering if installing a performance clutch makes a different in performances or its just a waste of money. I have a honda accord ex 1996.

Get it checked it may just need adjustment

If you haven't added to the horsepower of the engine, a performance clutch is a waste.

You can't get much performace out of an accord. It would just be a waste of money. My son and I recently replaced the clutch in his ride. He had put a tuner on it, did an EGR delete, and ran a 5" exhaust from the turbo back without a cat. He is up around 450 HP. He has hopes of putting a bigger turbo on it and new injectors so he went with a dual disc 900 hp ceramic button clutch. It definitely locks up with very little slippage.

A performance clutch is designed to handle more power. If you are not modifying your engine for power, it is a waste of money.

Waste of money. Performance clutches for racing are not that long lived. More that they don't slip under extreme load. Most are harsh and too grabby for good road use.

If I switch to a generic $10 oil change garage shop will it still be ok? I know the Honda filters are better then the cheapest generic ones but how about the actual motor oil?
  • Does High Performance chips work on hybrids? I have a 2007 honda civic hybrid and i was wondering does those performance chips or car performance programers work on hybrids? I heard they give better gas mileage and more power? I need one because my car does have much horse power and the MPG isn't good anymore because i have Performance tires with Honda Civic Si rims.
  • 97 Honda Civic, new clutch and pressure plate but won't come out of gear and clutch pedal won't release? The clutch feels backwards now, won't switch gears unless the car is off and the pedal is all the way up. When you start it in gear it will not come out of said gear unless you turn the car off. The clutch pedal will get stuck down and the car will roll in whatever gear you put it in, when putting the clutch pedal down is supposed to release the clutch… It does not
