Does removing alternator affect the timing?
2001 honda accord 4cyclinder
No. The main pulley runs itself once the engine is on. A belt is put on so it runs the alternator, steering pumps etc.
Does it affect timing? No. I just removed one off my chevy a few weeks ago and ran the engine to fix a whining noise. Timing did not change abit, ran perfectly fine.
But you can't drive a car without an alternator, because the serpentine belt would be too big and wouldn't run the steering/water pumps etc.
No it doesn't.
No, and you should not even think about working on cars.

- What size socket for removing glove compartment? I'm replacing my PCM in my car. I got the the point where I'm removing the glove compartment, and I came across a bolt that I need to remove. I think it's removed with a socket? But I don't know what size. I have tried a few. Is there a standard size for Honda Civics? Also, would it be one like 11/32", or 7mm?
- What's the best way to start removing paint on a car? So I just bought a Honda civic (used off crag's list) and I want to paint it flat green, no gloss or anything. I want to (at least try) to do it on my own, Not sure if ill paint it myself but I want to strip the paint and lay the primer. However I'm not sure what's the best way to start. And what's faster to remove the paint and clear coat.
