Honda accord 2003 TCS Light?
I Will be buying a 2003 Honda accord V6 130k miles for 4,500$ I have a simple question
THE TCS light is on what exactly is it? ( i heard traction control) and how much does the fix cost?
Ill obviously go look at it with a mechanic but i just want to know what to expect
The first thing you'll need to do is make sure the charging system is good. That's mean the battery, its cables/ terminal, the alternator need to be tested.
The second thing is check for code(s) in the system so the diagnose will go on the right direction. The cause(s) could be anything and it won't be a guessing game because everything is costly in part(s)
Depends on how many codes. It could be the Yaw rate sensor, the Steering angle sensor, the grounds, the connections at the ABS/TCS controller, connections/ power and ground at the PCM, same with the VSA controller (Vehicle Stability Assist), WSS (Wheel Speed Sensors) the gap between the WSS and the tone rings. Etc
Don't forget basics, I have in the past found out almost any misfire, crank sensor glitch, etc can cause the TCS light (Intermitently) and abrupt hiccup.
So check for the codes first. Code(s) cause by the engine operation will sometimes affect and trigger the TCS light. TCS light is a one trip code, the code for the engine is two trips code and sometimes the check engine light won't lit up.
You think that what I have told you is weird? I've found in the past on Honda/Acura has intermitently lit up the TCS light caused by a defected brake light switch. Try to step on the brake to put it in gear and see if the TCS light turn off. Send an E mail if you need more information. HTH
There are several things that could cause the Traction Control System indicator to come on. Could defective or worn tires, failed shocks or struts, or another defective or worn component of your suspension system. So it could be a very easy fix, or it could be a monster.

- Honda CRV 2003-check engine light? My check engine light won't go off; it has only 40,000 miles on it (real mileage). I also bought a new gas cap--so that isn't it. Can't find my manual either. How do I reset it, I'm thinking it is for oil maintenance but that was changed 1500 miles ago. I'm trying to avoid a trip to the dealer. It runs great and the gauges don't indicate any problems--Thank you for any help you can give me.
