How to turn an automatic car to a stick shift?

So I have a 2001 Honda accord and it is an automatic car. My friend has a stick and it is so much more fun to drive. I know there's a way to do this but I heard it can get into the thousands of dollars, I want a cheap way to do it. If there's a way where can it be done. If it is not possible to do cheap how can I make my car sound louder. Please give a lot of info. Also where can I buy a good cheap car.

The conversion of automatic to manual would be extremely expensive and labor intensive. The cost would more than likely exceed the value of your 2001. Simply not a practical undertaking. You would be better off trading for a vehicle that has the options and accessories you want.

1. Sell automatic car.
2. Buy a car with stick shift.
I'm not aware of any special place to buy a car. The best deals are usually from a true private seller, not a curb stoner.

  • What's a good stick shift car for a start up car? Ok, so it's time for me to start up and I want a car that helps me save money on I was thinking of a Honda or a Subaru. Can you guys please help me with a starting car?
  • Honda Amaze automatic or Hyundai Xcent automatic? Which would be better purely in terms of performance, acceleration, smooth and fast gearshifts and handling, i mean the better drivers car. I know hondas transmission and engines are great, but is the hyundai as good too? Even though the xcent has only 4 gears, i.e. 1 less than the amaze, it has tiptronic, would this by any chance improve the driving experience? I sadly don't have the opportunity to test drive these cars.
  • Stick shift or automatic? Ok so I'm getting a 2006 Honda Civic and I'm planing on racing. I'm gonna customize it and everything but I was wondering. Should I get stickshift or automatic. I know that stick is best for racing but I have heard so many bad things about stick like when your stuck in traffic. How long does it take to learn and get used to it. Also I don't have a car to practice stick on so that sucks.
