I got a 2004 Honda Accord 2 dr, 102,000 miles on it. I need to know what synthetic (or semi) and filer i need?
I called the dealership and they said the people who change my oil will know and now I see these coupons bust most are for conventional oil and without knowing what was previously in there i hear going synthetic might be a good option or high mileage. Plus my boyfriend brother said he can do it for us but I still don't know what is the best one for me. He also says once we choose one we have to stay with it so it seems like a big decision for the first car I've ever financed. I would appreciate any help.
Staying with a synthetic oil once used is a myth, Generally believed by those who are not mechanics, The only benefits of a synthetic oil is extended periods between oil changes and slightly better protection in extreme conditions, Which is why we use it in our police and sheriff patrol vehicles, cops can be pretty hard on an engine, All other pool vehicles get a conventional oil, Yes dear I'm one of those mechanics, So with that said, as long as you change your oil with a quality conventional oil at the manufactures recommended interval you won't have any more problems than you would have had using a synthetic, Now if your one of those that forget to change it at that interval or take it to the race track on the weekend, Then yes there will be some benefits to using a synthetic
You don't have to stick with a specific oil, you can change it at the next oil change if you change your mind. As for synthetic oil, do it. It may cost a little more, but you'll have a longer interval between oil changes. As for the filter, go with a K&N filter, just head into Advance Auto Parts and they will have a book that you will look up your car in and then you choose K&N filter.
For your 2004 HONDA ACCORD You would need:
5 Quarts of SAE 5W-20 Signature Series 100% Synthetic Motor Oil (ALMQT)
1 Absolute Efficiency Oil Filter (EA15K13)

I'm just browsing online looking at cars for sale and a lot of them have 200k or more miles on them and they want $4,000 or more. Why do people sale their cars for such a high price with a lot of miles on them? Its not just Hondas its all types of cars private and dealers as well
- My 2007 Honda Element has a mint body and interior and under 64,000 miles but due to its age it needs about 4k in work, here is the list New tires, front struts with dust boots and bump stops, rear shocks, alignment, water pump, universal belt, front lower ball joints, outer tie rod ends, timing side engine mount, rear brakes, flush and bleed the system and emergency brake adjustment. Should I do the work and keep it due to low miles and good eyeball condition?
- I have a 2015 Honda rancher that had a crack in the air box. It got so much dirt through the air filter it got into my piston. So it now Burns oil and I was wonder will it ever stop smoking. I know I have to rebuild the engin so don't even say it. And how long will it take before it losses power.
