Yup your engines destroyed you screwed up

Hondas take gasoline not diseal

Uh oh. That is bad. You will need to take it to a garage - but don't drive it.

Did you love that car?

Hi so the issues ar about engine wear and poor service record would be my guess here
so as even Honda bless them need to make a profit year on year. So why build a car that lasts longer than anyone else's. As there's no profit in it. So where most have decided to limit a car's life to 7 years what is the point of it lasting 10 years. So this one even by honda standards is now near to 9 + years older than that. So it has served it's masters well and now needs to be scrapped.

I bet it is!

You will have to have the tank drained - a job for a mechanic, who will also have to dispose of the unusable mixture. In your 1998 that is all it will need; he will flush out the fuel lines (expect a few hundred dollars for all this, probably $200-$300 but he can give you a better estimate) and all will be well. Unlike putting gasoline in a diesel engine it does no lasting damage.

I think you were supposed to fill the tank with petroleum or what the Americans call gasoline and not diesel like you claimed - perhaps you should consider draining all the liquid and re fill it up the tank with fuel or if you find damage after everything is clear then perhaps you should consider taking the car to a mechanic
I also agree with most of the other answers as well

Step away from the GREEN Nozzle!

Shouldn t be a problem, while it won't run very well as you are getting lower combustion you won't hurt the engine, keep adding gas when it gets down a bit so the ratio of gas keeps getting higher.

Nice job. Now drain the tank and flush the fuel lines. Make sure to replace the fuel filter.

Engine does not LIKE Diesel, so take it to a garage and tell them. They know what they got to do. Ask the price. They can tell you accurately. If they don't go to a different garage and find a shop that tells you how much this will cost… Basically they drain out all the diesel and put in gasoline. Change the fuel filter and that is about it and run it for a bit so all the diesel is gone. No harm done. May take them 2 hours to do the work.
You could do the job yourself. You need a siphon hose to get rid of all the fuel. Then get rid of the diesel, (a garage will get rid of it for you) or maybe give to somebody that has a diesel vehicle. They can run it in theirs as there's not enough gasoline to harm a diesel engine. You tell them why you are giving them the diesel.mix. Let them make the decision whether to use it in their vehicle or not.

I would not try to run it out. It will take a while. Though I do not know how much fuel you actually got. My area it is $4 a gallon so 2 gallons is $8. My Honda has a 14 gallon tank. So, if the tank was nearly full of gasoline, then maybe I would try to run the diesel through it by taking a long drive very soon to get rid of it faster.
It does not wear out the engine faster… Slower in fact… As diesel is oily.

Your choice. Suffer with a poor running car for awhile or Not.
