I have a 2001 Honda accord. My car was wrecked with both front passenger and driver airbag deployed

Anyone know where I can find regulations info and where to buyreplacement airbags that are legal or anything in general on this topic…

Baffled. If you car has been wrecked why are you bothered about the airbags?

They need to be professionally installed and are expensive, that, plus the structural damage to an old car makes it worthless and not worth repairing.

If you're a mechanics daughter then you should also know it will cost more to repair the air bags then the car can possibly be worth. And as a mechanics daughter why do you not know the price or be able to find the price easier than asking on YA?

Airbags can only be replaced by an authorized dealer or factory authorized mechanic.

Usually if the airbags go off, your car is a total loss. It is uneconomical to repair. Depending on the regulations in your country, you may be able to get around the air bag issue

It is a total loss. A 2001 car is not worth airbags - it is not so much the cost of the bags but repairing the damage that is done in a collision bad enough to set off airbags. A 2001 Accord is a pariah as well; in the thick of the Great Honda Automatic Transmission Debacle, nobody who knows anything about the debacle would take a 1998-2004 Accord at any price.

If you are not going to let the car go now, what will it take to put it out of its misery?

This information may help, BUT, make sure a qualified mechanic/body shop performs the work!

  • Passenger airbag off? My mom hit my 2011 Honda Civic on the rear bumber. It was just a small scratch but since then the Passenger Air Bag off light has been on. Is there a way to fix it or should I take it to be repaired? My bad, it said Side Airbag not passenger. @Gary it's a small garage and it was an accident no fraud, no insurance claim is being made and it's a small dent.
  • Passenger airbag light turned on (Honda Civic)? I mistakenly left both my front windows rolled down in my 2012 Honda Civic hybrid during a rainstorm and now the "passenger airbag off" light is on, even though nobody (and nothing) is sitting in the passenger seat. The front portion of my car got pretty wet by the time I realized it (I d guess about 20-30mins of straight heavy downpour). What gives?
  • How to turn the front passenger airbag on in my 2014 honda civic? My family just got a new honda civic (standard model without the touch screen) a few weeks ago and haven't had any problems until just this weekend. For some reason the passenger airbag off light came on. It is like this all the time, so it's not an issue of someone sitting in the airbag deploy path. As far as we know, nobody touched any buttons, but we don't know how to turn the airbag back on. Any help's appreciated.
  • How much will it cost to fix a front bumper and radiator and repack airbag on a 2005 Honda Civic? The headlights and turn signals also don't work? Anybody have a price? I don't have a lot of money
