Knocking Noise under drivers side?

I drive a 1997 Honda Accord and I have recently noticed a hard loud knocking under the drivers side door, almost where the wheel is, it speeds up when I do and slows down when I do, it has 160k miles and is in great mechanical condition other than that, breaks are new etc.

Maybe you should take your car to a mechanic and have them look at it

It's possible something might be stuck in the treads, like a rock, nut, etc. I had the same thing happen to me a while back.

If it's not that, best to go to a mechanic. Could be a loose bolt on the tire or a problem with the brake pad.

Sounds like the cv joint I think it means (constant velocity) does it get louder or knock harder when you turn your wheels while driving, is it front wheel drive? If you got some mechanical knowledge there not to hard to install and the part is pretty cheap, if not someone's gonna charge you 600 bucks plus to do it I've had to put one on an older model sentra and an older model accura integra like i say if you got some basic mechanical knowledge and some tools it's not too bad

Could be loose strut, a loose ball joint, or worse, it could be a CV joint or possibly the trans-axle is coming apart. You will need a real live mechanic to take a look at it to get the proper diagnosis.

See a garage. A mechanic will need to do a visual inspection and see what is wrong with your car.

" The drivers side door", like under the door section, if not where the wheel is directly, then get out and look under side panel fo loose objects like mud flap, fuel line or wires harness, knoecking nouse from wheel, coukd be strut, but you may feel that as well, kcoking and jolting steering, the wheel bearing or cv drive train joint assembly, if not, maybe bad brake or lose part, but you would be wise to just look for anything loose first, then drive slowly down roadwayband listen through window for direction of csource of sound
