Look under the dash at the pivot for the brake pedal, that's where the switch for the brake lights is - not hard to replace…

Stamp on the brake pedal a few times. It's likely the switch under the pedal has stuck on. WD40 or a new switch needed for a permanent fix.

Sounds like a brake light switch gone bad. You could try getting some old tshirts and wad them up and stuff them UNDER the brake pedal… Forcing it up. That might work if you are just wanting to not disconnect the battery. Be sure to REMOVE the shirts before attempting to drive again!

Step on the brake pedal a few times and see if doing that turns it off. No joy, disconnect the battery.

Look under the brake pedal. There's an adjuster for the brake switch sensitivity. Untighten the locknut and turn the adjuster bolt so the brake switch is no longer activated until the pedal is pressed 1/2". Tighten up and test. Do not run without a brake light fuse.

Fuse 30, 20 amp, under hood fuse box. Probably got a bad brake switch. Located at the pedal.

I don't recall where the fuse is (it is in the inside fuse box) but the usual cause is the "mushroom" button that goes in the brake pedal and contacts the switch has fallen out. You should find it on the floor, and simply putting it back in place (or taping in a folded up piece of paper for now) will turn off the brake lights. It will fall out again - there's really nothing to hold it in - if you don't use RTV or some sort of adhesive to fasten it in.

If there's no fuse chart on the fuse box cover pull one fuse at a time until the brake lights go out.
You likely need a new brake light switch.
have you tried disconnecting the brake light switch harness connector yet?
