On my 93 honda accord ex, is the alternator belt and power steering belt the same if i buy it at a near by auto store?
Going to replace both but i'm not sire if i buy 2 of the same ones is it going to matter or i have ti get different types i really don't know
Ask the clerk at the store. His computer will tell you.
No they aren't
The power steering is separate. If you have AC it is on the alternator belt - that means there are different alternator belts depending on whether you have AC but the PS belts are the same. Anyway, you need two separate belts.
Go to Advance Auto and they will tell you how many drive belts you need. Make sure to spin the pulleys by hand to see if any fell gritty or dry. If thy feel bad replace them.
- Does power steering fluid get hot if the car is just running and the steering isn't being used? If the pump is just spinning, recirculating fluid and nothing else… Would it still get hot? I had to bypass the pump from the rack and have the fluid recirculate. Would the pump get hot from just spinning? I know 8th gen Honda's don't have a cooler for the power steering anyways.
- Power steering fluid leaking from the base of the steering column? I have a 2002 Honda Civic and I noticed that there's power steering fluid leaking at the base of the steering column. I can't find anything about it online and don't want to take it to a mechanic if its something that I can figure out. Could this be the rack and pinion? Or is it just something simple? Anybody dealt with this issue before?
- Switch near fuse box and dashboard on honda accord 2001? I got used honda accord 2001 last week and i noticed a small on-off press switch down the steering wheel and near to fuse box. I read manual i didn't find what it does. I pressed it while ignition running it does nothing although it feeling like connected to wiring on back of dashboard when i touch it. I think previous owner added it for some reason.Anybody have some idea? Does it turn my car into optimus prime?
- Should I buy OEM or aftermarket power steering pressure hose? I need to replace mine due to leaking, but I'm not sure if I should get OEM or save with aftermarket. Can anyone with experience tell me if should should spend more on that hose? Thanks! Also should mention this is for a 2006 Honda Accord
