Should I repair my car? Honda accord? - 1
I have a Honda Accord 2001 ex coupe (black) with 174k miles. I need to buy a new radiator, 2 new motor mounts, new brake rotors, alignment, timing belt, water pump. All this will cost about 350$ plus the labor work probly 550$ Is it worth fixing? Or should I just sell it and save for another car. I'm 17 btw & Live in CA. How much longer would it last if i fixed it? I got a job it's about 12 miles away I drive 5 times out of the week. What's the important things I reall need to repair, should I sell it and save for a new one?
I think the labor costs less than $550.
Anyway it worth fixing if the rest is good.
Fix it up and sale it.
Are you going to buy NEW or another car…
If NEW is an option go new… If you're thinking about buying a used car, plan on spending about 500 to1000 to a service and repair it… Unless you buy from a dealer that will allow you to have it inspected then agree to repairing and servicing what you find. In that case you'll pay much more for it… Lots of these accords over 200k,… What's important to repair brakes that don't stop, fluid leaks that will ruin engine or Trans, lots of cars on road with bad mounts, timing belts get changed at 100K so are you early or way overdue which can cause engine damage,… Without knowing why you're changing the stuff you listed… Can't tell you… For over 10years I had about 5-8 high mileage used cars a week inspected and repaired/serviced for continued use… You got a used car now… If all else is good fix it, lots of life left, at the little bit of driving you do.
Better you buy a new car.
- I have a 1998 Honda CRV with 240 K miles. Needs $1200 of repair to pass inspection. Should i fix or buy a newer used Honda civic? Mike? I'm the original owner and have done a good job with oil changes etc. However, it needs 2 front control arms with ball joints and rear struts to pass inspection. I've also gone past my mileage on a second timing belt (first one done at 90K miles). Car body exterior and interior is in pretty good shape. Inside looks brand new. But repair cost at 1200 + timing belt ~500 =~1700 in repars. Is it time for a newer used auto.
- How Much Should I Pay for this Repair on My Car? A friend of mine who is a formal mechanic replaced the fuel module assembly on my Honda Civic. He fixed it at his house. What should I pay him for this?
