Spark plug wires popped off?

I have a 97 Honda Accord LX Coupe and When I was driving i noticed my temperature gauge started rising so i puled off the road and opened my hood and found that 2 of my spark plug wires had popped off and when they popped off there was oil splats like oil had splatted out of the cylinders when the spark plug wires had popped off. What's causing this? What should i look into to replacing?

Leaking valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals. Very common. The tube seals allow oil into the spark plug tubes. Remove the valve cover, gasket and seals. Clean oil off everything. Remove and replace the plugs. Clean the spark plug tubes. Replace gasket and seals. Replace the spark plug wires. Start engine. Be happy.

Upper reseal. Take it to get a valve cover gasket and show them the leaks in the spark plug holes. They have to diassemble further to get that area sealed. There's a video about it i saw on you tube. Eric the car guy shows the entire procedure.

Need valve cover gasket replaced go to you tube and you can do it your self

Sounds like the valve pan gasket started to leak, the oil got on the spark plug boot and the wire popped off!

  • Unsure which spark plug to use? I recently bought a spark plug to replace the current one I have in my 50cc Honda Giorno scooter. The one that was in there was a BHR6SA, the one I recently bought was a BPR6ES. The new one is longer in appearance and I don't think it'll fit. Can someone please let me know if the spark plug I bought would work and if not, which spark plug would be most suitable for my scooter. Cheers! The one that was in the before was a BR6HSA, my bad!
